The Essex Oaths Project
involves transcribing all of the details from the surviving Returns made by Essex Lodges in accordance with the Unlawful Societies Act of 1799 and now held by the Essex Record Office.
Our objective is to provide an important resource for Social Historians, Masonic Historians and the Genealogist in general and is freely available to all interested parties.
The project is far from complete. Only about 10% of the documents have been so far transcribed. If you wish to participate in this project you would be most welcome.
THE OPEN MASONIC INDEX
is for those people who sometimes forget where you read something?
Have you ever forgotten the name of the web site where you read that interesting article?
If so, (and who can say that hasn't happened to them), this database will be useful to you. But only if YOU make entries to help others.
This is a unique resource and I do hope you will make full use of it. I do understand that it will be open to abuse but that problem will be tackled when and if it arises.
You may contact Lodge Officers through our Contact Page.
