Please be aware that we have tried to make the transcript from the documents as accurate as possible BUT...

Some of the documents are in poor condition and in some places, cannot be accuartly transcribed. We have made a 'best guess' and included a '?' so that you are aware and understand that we are unsure.

Please remember that the Secretaries who submitted these 'Returns' often rather scribbled the entries making them difficult to decipher. In any case, the script writing is not exactly the same as modern script leaving considerable scope for interpretation.
